Tennessee State University alumna, ballet and tap dancer, wife, and spine whisper - because who doesn't need a spine specialist to sort out their messy backs?
Started Curdle Creek thinking it’d be my thing. It got weirder (yay) but I gave up when I finished the halfway point of the book. 😬 The first book this year to end up on my DNF list. 33 more books to go! #BlackBookSky

Back from a reading break due to being at The World Games. This Cursed House hits hard. 1962 gothic thriller w/ voodoo, secrets, revenge, and real human horror. Del Sandeen’s debut is sharp, emotional, and unforgettable. 16 books down, 36 to go. Highly recommend! #blackbooksky

Since being back stateside, I’ve been nonstop!

Thursday: Honored to be a panelist alongside an incredible group of sports chiropractors.

Saturday: Auditioned for my area’s local Nutcracker!

Loving the momentum, but looking forward to resting this Labor Day weekend!

I’m back from my two week hiatus. I was selected as one of the 53 sports chiropractors to provide care to athletes at the World Games 2025 in Chengdu. This experience will remain a career highlight and a personal reminder of the power of global collaboration, service, and the human spirit in motion.

All the Dangerous Things is a twisty, fast-paced thriller you won’t put down.

A mother with a dark past. A missing baby. No forced entry, just an open window and growing suspicion.

Did she do it? Or is she the next victim?

15 books down, 37 to go.

@tananarivedue.bsky.social come to the front. This book is powerful, heartbreaking, and deeply emotional. The injustices, cruelty, the loss to where it’s overwhelming at times. I was ALMOST at the point of tears.
Why didn’t any of my fellow bookworms warn me about how heavy this storyline is? Whew!

I finally have the time and was able to check this book out at my local library. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I’ll review when I am done. @tananarivedue.bsky.social #blackbooksky

I just finished Model Home: A Novel by Rivers Solomon. This novel has some disturbing aspects that deals with family trauma, psychological trauma, ptsd, identity, and race. The ending was very interesting. 13 books down, 39 to go.

This book was a quick read with only 20 chapters, but it didn't hold my attention. I was expecting more given the author's success with Bird Box, which was adapted into a film. Unfortunately, it fell short and barely avoided being added to my DNF list.

I gave this horror novel 3.5 stars. I loved that it's told from a kid's perspective, it's like getting a front-row seat to a child's therapy session. The scary stuff kicks in right from the start. The ending was either metaphorical or the author left that “closet door” wide open. #booksky

This thriller tackled racism and had great character development. The plot twist was surprising, but the 45-chapter narrative tried my patience. 43 more books to go. Overall a good read. #blackbooksky

I finished the 8th book on my reading list today. The story started off irritating, but turned into a mind-bending, trippy tale with a mysterious ending. I prefer stories that tie up loose ends, but the Morse code at the end of certain chapters was a cool addition. #booksky

I'm obsessed with this book. It's a thrilling mystery, suspense story. The dual timelines were brilliant, adding intrigue to the plot. I couldn't wait to dive back in every time I had to put it down. “Author's Note” section is a sobering reminder of harsh realities that still exist. #blackbooksky

Nicole Cuffy’s Dances is a powerful exploration of the human experience, delving into themes of race, relationships, and self-discovery. Cece struggles with imposter syndrome and complicated relationships are profoundly moving, making for an immersive and emotionally charged narrative. #blackbooksky

Upon finishing this book, I must admit that the characters were initially unlikable, but as I continued reading, my opinion shifted, except in the case of the dad. The plot was difficult to keep up with, but the characters and imagery were enticing and vivid. #blackbooksky

Tomorrow's snowstorm is looming, so I swung by the library to pick up some extra books. If the roads get bad, I'll be all set for a Thursday of reading instead of working. Books are my happy place, a sanity-saving escape from the world's craziness. I've got four books down and 48 books to go.

For those who struggle with picking up on symbolism when it’s right in front of your face. This is why I liked the halftime performance, he creatively got the messages across without the extra antics.

This book had trauma, maternal issues, and dark comedy. When I really got into the book, I started to feel silly reading it as an adult due to parts giving Slappy from the Goosebumps series by R.L. Stein. The more I read, the more that wasn’t the case. It was a good read. #booksky

Alright, the HBCU Walking Billboard calendar is officially out; I'll be strutting proudly in my Tennessee State University gear and The Lip Bar's TSU lip gloss at work on February 21st.

I've renewed my library card on my birthday last week and I'm officially back on track to reading more leisurely. My 2025 reading list consists of 52 books. I decided to start with the thrillers first. I hope to successfully clear my reading list this year. Support your local library. #blackbooksky
