One of my favorite trees. Also, the most profitable tree I've ever owned. I've sold the fruit on eBay to people who were convinced it was bug repellent. The wood is also excellent. I had a storm-damaged tree when I lived in Indiana. I milled up the trunk and sold the wood at auction!

Most of the candidate-gene work on aggression in chimps hasn't held up in recent years. I'm a bit skeptical when people say species A has social qualities B built into it, mainly because variation within a species can sometimes be greater than differences between species.

I’ve read this before, but I am baffled that it ostensibly ignores some of the strongest critiques (from Lehrman, Schneirla, and the group from the American Museum of Natural History) that was well known during 1974. Hard to make the case their critiques were based on eighteenth century logic!
