Can roosters go gray? Jensen Hackles has been our devoted protector for yrs now and I noticed recently his feathers by his comb are turning white. We’re all getting a little long in the beak 😂

Anyone make garlic honey ferments? This is my first time and it’s bubbling a bit more than I expected. I sure hope it turns out 😊

Fermentation fail! The cauliflower and carrots have morphed into roadkill and farts. I’m a nurse and hobby farmer, so bad smells are nothing new, but this made me tear up!

I think I’ve figured out the sourdough! I no longer discard, just add to and use regularly, and I leave the hooch. I started with rye flour which has been great!

We recently visited a small local shop with an awesome pantry selection aptly named “the flour barrel”. We stocked up on milled goods, even some wheat kernels we hope to mill ourselves.

We started making goat’s milk soap over 15 yrs ago. Our oldest son had eczema and, despite using all of the recommend gentle soaps, we couldn’t find anything that didn’t aggravate it. This sent us down a rabbit hole, eventually leading to homemade soaps that we still love and make today
