Just spent 2 hours fixing a rear puncture on my wife’s mamachari. It would be a 5 minute job on any other bike but it’s like some decided to choose all the terrible, obsolete bike technology of the 20th century and put them all on a piece of shit steel frame.

In bed with the flu and watching some films I never got around to seeing. I’m currently watching Ocean’s 12 which just did a great 180 when Julia Robert’s character is asked to play Julia Roberts herself in a heist as she ‘looks just like her’ and they’re desperate.

I think I’ve had it with aquarium shop employees in Tokyo. Whatever question they’re asked, the answer is always ‘Yes’. ‘Can I buy just one of this fish?’ ‘Sure’. ‘Can I feed it Doritos?’ ‘That’s fine’. ‘Will it thrive in a tub of lava?’ ‘Go for it’.

Saw that Alien was showing at Toho, Shinjuku. Got my ticket - screen 12. Found my seat. Layout looked a bit different but OK. Started with a preview of another film which turned out to be the whole film so I must be in the wrong screening room. Film finishes. Double check - I’m in Screen 12. Wut?

In order to control the shrimp overpopulation problem I moved about 50 of them to the killifish pond outside and now I’m feeling guilty because I know what happens next.
