notabled-noodle when I say "everyone's on their own timeline", I mean it. there's no right age to learn something by. there's no right age to be settled down, to move out of home, or to start your own family. there's no right age to start working, if you work at all. there's no right age to graduate. life isn't a series of boxes you need to tick. do things at your own pace. slow down if you need to. it's okay.

N 1985, PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN appointed me as a federal judge. I was 38 years old. At the time, I looked forward to serving for the rest of my life. However, I resigned Friday, relinquishing that lifetime appointment and giving up the opportunity for public service that I have loved. My reason is simple: I no longer can bear to be restrained by what judges can say publicly or do outside the courtroom. President Donald Trump is using the law for partisan purposes, targeting his adversaries while sparing his friends and donors from investigation, prosecution, and possible punishment. This is contrary to everything that I have stood for in my more than 50 years in the Department of Justice and on the bench. The White House's assault on the rule of law is so deeply disturbing to me that I feel compelled to speak out. Silence, for me, is now intolerable.

So many folks talk about how they re being "forced to accept" things that go against their beliefs. You're not being forced to accept them. If you have a problem with people of color, with gay marriage, with trans people, with immigrants, with women of any race, etc. then you're still welcome to feel however you want to feel about those people. You're just not allowed to make their lives harder because of your feelings. You're not allowed to turn their daily lives into a battle ground. No one is forcing you to "accept" a single thing. You're just not being allowed to terrorize people.

Andrews: I would never want to pass up an opportunity to boomer bash, but I'm not sure that that's the story that's going on here. Certainly there were many institutions and companies during the height of wokeness that felt like they were held hostage by their younger workers. Their younger workers were demanding wokeness, and the managers were too terrified to do anything but capitulate. But I think that Sargeant: Terrified of what exactly? Andrews: What an apt question. When you look at somebody like James Damore, the Google guy who got fired for issuing a memo saying that male overrepresentation in hard sciences might be attributable to biological differences and differences in interest, he was not fired because Googlers were calling for his head and the management was afraid of a statt revolt. He was fired because any woman alleging gender discrimination — any woman in his division - could then sue the company and say: I have not been given opportunities because the atmosphere at Google believes that women are less capable than men. It was because of legal linhility

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) does not let people decline to be scanned by its new facial recognition app, which the agency uses to verify a person's identity and their immigration status, according to an internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) document obtained by 404 Media. The document also says any face photos taken by the app, called Mobile Fortify, will be stored for 15 years, including those of U.S. citizens. The document provides new details about the technology behind Mobile Fortify, how the data it collects is processed and stored, and DHS's rationale for using it. On Wednesday 404 Media reported that both ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are scanning peoples' faces in the streets to verify citizenship.

CANYON COUNTY, Idaho - The FBI issued an updated statement on Wednesday after Idaho News 6 questioned the agency's denial that children were zip-tied during a federal raid at a horse track in Wilder on Oct. 19. Earlier, an FBI public affairs officer sent an email to Idaho News 6 stating, “Reports suggesting children were zip-tied or hit with rubber bullets during the October 19 FBI-led operation in Wilder are completely false." During coverage of the raid, Idaho News 6 obtained a photo showing a 14-year-old U.S. eitizen in zip ties. The newsroom sent the image to the FBI in response to the initial statement. The FBI later replied with an "updated statement" that said, "Reports suggesting young children were zip-tied or hit with rubber bullets during the October 19 FBI-led operation in Wilder are completely false." Idaho News 6 followed up to clarify what age is defined as a "young child," but has yet to hear back. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

This is Cesar, the No Drama Llama. He is legendary in Oregon. At Rose City Comic Con, people queued up to get a fabulous pic and hug from Cesar. Tonight, Cesar was protesting at the illegal Portland ICE facility.
