part-time coder, all time slacker
Meanwhile I keep acting surprised when I find out that people cannot, in fact, become equivalent to my growing up with computers my whole life, just by hitting up google for five minutes. And I constantly downplay my own experiences and knowledge. Also I don't have a PhD in it, so it's worthless.

I mean, why not, since the US is going to ban edibles, so the only option will be to smoke it.

Why not, since we're living that reality now.

What is that incredibly obvious watermark? Some silly attempt to poison AI models? Does that even work?

Isn't there also Lil Gator Game? Is that one made by a complete asshat, or can the misdirected queer people just find a better game made by someone who is actually nice?

It's not enough that they be miserable. Everyone must be miserable.

It doesn't help that not enough white folk like me are following enough people who are talking about these things often enough, so we often miss it until it overflows into our direct line of sight. It's not that I don't care, I definitely care that BS like this happens and want it to stop.

Cuz, like, the last time I used AI generators, they weren't really so capable of taking an input image and actually producing something still resembling the input.

They also have a huge collection of tracks on their BandCamp account. Wish I could tell for sure:

spacewavefm.bandcamp.com

The specific mix:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ux5...

It uses artwork mostly derived from the Dark Hypno Team Rocket Pokémon card, and credits the artist. The music is pleasant.
Spacewave FM
Spacewave FM streams tales of ancient galaxies, celestial beings, and the enigmatic travelers who navigate their mysteries.

And even if their result isn't exactly the same as the AI slop you prototyped, maybe you'll like it better?
November 7, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Cuz, like, I maybe accept the use of smaller local models on personal hardware as a rapid prototyping stage, since once can't really expect a real artist to cheaply spin out dozens of random idea shots in a short time span. But at least get an artist to make your final idea real?
November 7, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Is it so hard to at least just take the AI crap that you liked the general look of, and present it to a reputable artist and say "please make me something with the general mood of this, only I'd like the technical details to be actually correct, and maybe have the mood and feel of an actual artist"

This reminds me that Kevin Beaumont was really pissy when people were getting angy with him because He Just Wanted To Play His Got Dang Terf Game.

Oh god, I think I figured out what iOS 26 is doing. It's mandatorily doing what they let you do optionally on desktop: Saving HDR screenshots to (lossy) HEIC.
