Another painting - this time from camping at Sauble Falls provincial park a few days ago. #painting #art #pleinair

Another one from our recent trip, this time an American white lily painted from life. This image feels slightly unfinished yet relatively complete #flowers #whitelily #painting #oilpainting

Had a lovely holiday near Perry Sound with my family and managed to paint a few times while there!! Very thankful for so much time together and such a great place #canadianart #oilpainting

Two figure paintings from a session with Steve earlier this month. I’m a colourist at heart so it helps to go back to black and white every once in a while. #figurepainting #painting #oilpainting

From painting during that last very smoky weekend. I was so impressed by the scale of these clouds.

Painted this one the other week outside while looking at the neighbour’s house. Kept thinking about all the plastic in my yard. The green organics bin is definitely my favourite bit. #oilpainting #art

Tried more portraiture at this week’s life drawing. As I’m looking to abstract people the faces are always on my mind. Gordon (the model) was great. #portraiture #painting

Concert sketches from last night while I was sitting in the crowd. James sitting next to me said “I’m getting the album and the album ART!”

Another painting from last night ❤️

A couple 15 minute poses from #figuredrawing last night. It feels very good to paint from life, the models are all so lovely and the artists drawing along side me are always such a great group.

These two were painted on the north and south sides of the same culvert on the road behind the local airport. I’m always so curious about what what is behind people when they are making/taking images #canadianart #pleinair

I gave a friend this painting I did of her for her birthday on the weekend. When she sat for this a while back it was such a fun time and I loved how this portrait turned out because of the loose brushwork and the tan on her chest #portraiture #painting

Sat outside for a bit yesterday and painted this - I really enjoyed painting the light peaking through the fence. #painting #pleinair #art

This one is my favourite from the tiny paintings I’ve made recently. It’s of my neighbour’s place and a bit funny (just like him). #painting #canadianpainting #art

Another one from last night of Lyle #art #figuredrawing #painting

Kept things very short and used a more limited palette last night. About 30 minutes? Lyle is a great model.

The wind turbines were all looking so good today, and working so hard spinning away. I got three paintings done, their productivity must’ve rubbed off on me. #landscape #painting #pleinair

My aunt babysat for a few hours so I could get outside this weekend to paint ☺️ Two lovely young women found my hiding spot, chatted, and took photos #pleinair #painting

Steve was a great model a few nights ago at community life drawing. He was very happy to sit for a handful of us rural artists, a change up from his normal university modelling classes. #figuredrawing #painting #art

I think this might be the last violet painting of the season… the light hit this setup outside just right for like 15 minutes and I was able to paint enough information to finish it up as the day went on. #violets #oilpainting #art

Zach was a great model tonight! I never regret getting out to a painting or drawing session #lifedrawing #art #portraiture

Another violet painting. I’ve got maybe one of two more left before they all close up and go to seed. Some people think they are a weed but I do love them. I’ve got at least 3 kinds in the yard, mostly North American but some European too. #violets #springflowers #oilpainting
