The kernel of truth there could be that >nothing< is real. Many religions posit that the physical world is illusion, after all…and even many physicists believe there is evidence that it’s true.

But they still will dry several shades darker than they are wet. Premixing them won’t change that.

And unless you’re just painting flat colors mixing will also occur on the canvas.

also...not all libraries are public libraries. Your own personal book collection is also a library, and people can't just come in and take books from it, usually.

Little Free Libraries are a way to get rid of books you no longer want. Real libraries don't take book donations.

oh, I know. But my small acrylic paintings (approximately 2x2 inches, on paper) don't change color when they dry...only the big ones on canvas.

that must be it, the speed. With little things it dries so fast, there's no real disconnect between what you've done and what you see in the end.
