We wanted the colonizers to be more standardized fantasy creatures even if they aren't that connected to stories from Spain. We added bull elements because otherwise the white coded forms were less animal coded which lead to messaging we didn't want. Plus, bulls are hella Spain

Colonizers tried to convert people by telling them their spiritual beings were actually demons from the colonizers religion. This led to syncretism in demons, and Native spirits having devilish names.
Our tieflings (Raug) are likewise seen as demons by some and not by others

The form of the Chanov is inspired by the many mixed cultures and people in South America. One of the main driving motivations for when we designed the forms system was to allow for mixed form characters, especially mixing more than 2 separate forms

Bakol came about from the fact that multiple South American cultures have stories of big, powerful Serpents. We decided early on Giant Serpents would fill the space in Koboa normally filled by dragons in other fantasy settings. This led to a form inspired by them

Let's start with the new ones.
The bakemoh is inspired by diaspora experiences of Japanese-Brazilian families, designed by Yui Taguchi.
The form represents blessings from one's ancestors, granting them powers in the form of different animal attributes.
