Shipping is so expensive 😭

There are other books I’ve read in my life that have affected me deeply, artistically or emotionally. But a book that changed me? “Matilda” is basically the reason I’m even HERE.

Never before had I considered my situation something I could overpower or be stronger than. Obviously my abuse story didn’t give me telekinetic powers but this book did encourage me to keep reading, keep drawing, and to understand it was NOT my fault. I was only a kid but that book saved me.

And for clarity, the right for gay people to marry is an immutable thing that is heresy to touch. But so is the other one. That’s what I mean.

Everybody’s rights matter. But for some reason gay marriage just feels like this immutable thing that is heresy to even touch and trans rights to self-identity are “controversial” or “not worth fighting for right now” or “losing elections” and when will it feel like we also Belong Here

It’s like barely a dog but still. Puppy.

Honestly this has nothing to do with gay people because their rights were up in the air too while this case was in court. It’s people who aren’t part of the LGBTQIA+ community that were like >:000 about this and like :/// about trans people losing the right to identity

I don’t sound like I’m mad at gay people do I?? I promise I’m not!!

Like almost nobody was like “hmmm now is not really the time to worry about gay marriage, actually. Too much else going on” like they are about trans rights. Idk am I even making sense

I don’t have any big salient point that will get me lots of RTs I’m just glumly musing on the topic really. As a gay trans person it feels like only half of my identity is considered worth protecting from the general public, the other part is too controversial

Like I don’t want to sound at all like I’m trying to fight gay people. I’m gay. I am aiming this exclusively at cishet people who feel like it’s ok to throw trans people under the bus politically but not gay people, you know what I mean? When will that tide turn
