meaning one of them will have to essentially "give up" in order for them to get anywhere. either chang geng has to give up his feelings (difficult), or gu yun has to re-evaluate his own, or not let chang geng continue to stay with him because it's becoming a burden for both of them.

god the frustration and shaking on chang geng as he says this too and gu yun is looking at him in disbelief over how hard this apparently is for chang geng. chang geng begging to just let him keep the distance because he clearly cant be the filial son gu yun oh so desperately wants :(

two can play it that way, damn. imagine things getting to a point where chang geng quite literally starts avoiding gu yun more and more often, because it's getting harder to keep himself together. like hes barely talking to him as time goes by and gu yun starts getting frustrated.

Its true. Now continue to think about a reality where changgu continue to live in this weird limbo where neither is acknowledging the fact that chang geng is into gu yun, and gu yun isnt returning those feelings. while also that everyone can tell something changed but aren't sure /what/.

I can honestly say that he/him doesn't feel right. but I'm not averse to they/them. literally food for thought on this Saturday night. Who knows if I will ever explore that thought.
