How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn

⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was crazy. lmao. The two main characters ANNOYED me, but it was a silly little Christmas read.

“Maturity is what happens when one learns to only give a fuck about what's truly fuckworthy.”

Self-help books spit out what we already know but sometimes, it’s cool to read words you need to hear.

Anyway, I can say I’ve truly been inspired by @mychal3ts.bsky.social. I’m back to being a library kid and I really had fun this year. Here’s to more reading in 2025! 💕📚💫

Whew! Ok, so that’s that! This is my first time ever committing to a reading goal without worrying about a personal pan pizza and I’m super proud. (Book It for grown ups, Pizza Hut??) 🤭

Yellowface by R. F. Kuang

I’ve never wanted to physically fight someone in a book before. Like full on rage fest. June Hayward, I hate you. lol This book was so…triggering? The white tears. Like, girl, GET OUT OF MY FACE. Anyways, this was a wild read. Unhinged.

Meh. I don’t know? lol. It was something to read.

Will I read the other books in the Meant to Be series? Yes, because I love rolling my eyes and screaming “SHADDUUUPP, this is DUMB” while reading. It’s just a thing for me…

Verity by Colleen Hoover
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What the hell?

I-…

I was told this was the better Colleen Hoover books and I must say, it was a wild ride I enjoyed. I gasped. I screamed. I yelled out BITCH several times. This was fun.

We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Woah. So, this was my first horror book and it was just my speed. Did it incorporate my biggest fears? Yes. Did I have to read it with my light on and Bob’s Burgers on in the background? Obviously.

I really loved the last chapter though! It encouraged me to make a mixtape for myself and I’ve been enjoying that process. I’ll share it…eventually.✨

I honestly thought this would simply be a book about being single. Releasing the past and just being? It was very much so relationship based and just not what I needed to hear at this juncture of my healing journey.

There’s an awesome segment about releasing your past and moving forward, but then he goes full gym bro on me and OH BROTHER…

A man telling me to go to the gym to heal just ain’t it. Maybe I just don’t wanna hear relationship advice from a man…at least not his. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Single on Purpose by John Kim

I won’t say I hated it, but this one just wasn’t for me. There are definitely some nuggets I pulled from this but I rolled my eyes for the majority of the time.

Because who is this guy and wait where’d THEY come from? Whose dragon is this?? We’re where now? *aggressively flips back to the map*

Anyway, I’m happy I picked it back up…it was a cool (long) read overall.

Not gonna lie, this one took me a minute to get through. It was so…long? Some parts draaaggged on.
I’m committed to the series, so I definitely want to see how it plays out, but geez…I need a notebook.
