Chronic health issues + some extra health issues in the past few months + disability benefits worries + the general dystopian crap going on in the UK and the rest of the world. Rest is rebellion right?! I need a break and to focus on self care, kindness and compassion.

I promise I will post some finished #crochet soon! But in the meantime here's another #wip I started 😂

I'm remaking the Shark Tank top as I wasn't happy with it the first time - I'll be altering it to hopefully fit my body better 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I just love this yarn and stitch combo so I have to try! 🧶

I eventually pinned out my #crochet mesh shrug yesterday! I think I need to steam it as last time I tried just spraying it with water it shrunk back.

I always feel like I'm blocking mesh things wrong as they look wonky at the edges where I've pinned it!

I mainly use @listeningbooks.bsky.social for reading as my ME/CFS & other issues mean it's mainly easier to listen to audiobooks. It's only £20 a year and the catalog is amazing - plus you can request any book that isn't there and they'll look into getting it.

Here are just some alternatives to Amazon for book lovers! My faves.

Also obviously your local library - which often have apps to read ebooks and audiobooks. Mine uses Borrowbox but many use Libby/Overdrive.

Hive.co.uk is a good UK book source too.

I didn't have any Aran yarn so I held DK yarn double and I love the effect this has!

It was the 10 year anniversary of the yarnie group I'm in - Yarn Addicts of Manchester this Saturday just gone. I realised I've actually been going since 2015 too - when it was called Crochet, Chat, Coffee & Cake! I made the purple mesh shrug I'm wearing for the occasion 🧶 🥳

Did you know if you use two yarn colours for Tunisian crochet you get a lovely stripe on one side and an interesting pattern on the other?... This is a ruana I made using just the simple stitch (with a standard crochet top underneath)

Here's my first and only tapestry #crochet that I made as part of the Yarn Addicts of Manchester's installation for the Manchester Flower Festival in May 2023. It was based on a piece on street art in Manchester's Gay Village.

Throwback to when I actually finished an Edward's Imaginarium monster - mainly to use up the pink yarn that I got in a lucky dip yarn purchase (that felt way too girly for me! But I love on this monster!)

I started a Tunisian crochet gauge check for a cardigan I've wanted to make for ages! It uses modified Tunisian knit stitch (or locked Tunisian knit stitch as I've seen it called on YouTube)
