None, I’m merely pointing out your use of a logical fallacy to support your argument. If we’re going to save this country, we need to communicate the truth, effectively, and often. We’re on the same side here.

Strawman is strong, but the argument is weak. We’re not going to win this thing by behaving like the right.

“Burn it all down?” Whew boy, sounds just like the orange man. Horseshoe theory at work.

I think they call this the false dilemma fallacy. I get where you’re going, counselor, but this isn’t the route.

Let’s ask the low paid human being on the other end who got a de@th threat from a stranger, how she feels about it.

“We do not become satisfied by leading a peaceful and prosperous existence. Rather, we become satisfied when reality matches our expectations. The bad news is that as conditions improve, expectations balloon.” - Yuval Noah Harari

I ain’t smart and I definitely ain’t a rocket surgeon, but I can add two things that might help here: Bayes Law & Surviviorship bias.

Interesting take. I’m open to new information, what evidence-based source is informing your opinion?

Perhaps this capitulation will pull viewers from the right wing infosphere to (imperfect) but more credible outlets. I doubt it, but we can hope.

In a way they’re victims too. Yes, they voted against their interests, but mostly because they were conditioned by right wing power seekers in furtherance of their goals.

Disinformation & misinformation have real world consequences. Many of the people who will succumb from these preventable diseases will die still believing vaccines are a government plot.

Sorry Mitch, you own this mess.

Bravo ProPublica, well done. For the rest of us banging around in the comments, it’s apparent that we’re not immune from confirmation and other cognitive biases.

Great idea sir, those demo-brats could never pull the wool over your eyes. Beat em at their own game and push those legislators to eliminate the EC! That’ll show them.

So you think Biden shouldn’t preemptively protect Liz Cheney, Jack Smith, Adam Kinzinger, et al?
December 9, 2024 at 1:06 AM
The orange man is likely too incompetent to effectively push MAGA policies. He got them back in power and his job is done. It’s VERY likely MAGA will offer him hero status and a comprehensive pardon if he steps down for “health reasons.” A preemptive pardon by Biden could mess up that plan.
