5. Pokémon Platinum
My first Pokémon game ever and to this day, still my favorite. Nostalgia does have a lot to do with it as I hate how slow it is, but dammit this game is special to me. It's also home to my fav Poké (Riolu line) so that helps. Didn't bother with the remakes and ig I chose wisely.

(Cont) and the world itself being a huge playground where the only limits are your imagination, they somehow nearly perfected the open world genre. TOTK for me was an even better BOTW. With the introduction of making vehicles, it only just encouraged thinking outside the box more than ever.

Okay I'm cheating here by putting two games, but I think that they're similar enough that I can't seperate them. BOTW came out at a time where Zelda games really held your hand on everything. So to have a game that throws you into this world with little to no handholding, beauty.
