I would be unstoppable if I wasn’t constantly crushed under the suffocating weight of having more than one exciting idea at a time

The majority of people don’t think about meaning or purpose daily.

They mostly think about it when something triggers a moment that highlights a lack of competence or control.

Can you imagine the free brain space?!

It super bums me out when someone’s lived experience is the ceiling for their empathy.

This is why the deep feelers and big thinkers are the ones who will save the world.

Sometimes the bravest action is taking inventory of what you have (vs. have not).

What’s working?
What do you have?
What could you do?

You don’t have to feel some kind of way about it (cough, cough - gratitude).

But awareness of your supplies makes it easier for when you’re ready to craft.

To be resourceful, you have to be present.

You have to know what you have available.

You have to take stock and inventory.

That’s not possible at warp speed.

When we rush along, we only clock a fraction of what’s possible.

We limit ourselves when we exceed the speed limit.

Something that really put my perfectionism into perspective was seeing that it’s actually just striving for obedience instead of striving to contribute.

And I’ll be damned if I spend my life striving for obedience.

Do it liberated.

Working on yourself to PERFECT yourself is not the same as working on yourself to ENJOY yourself.

You don't have to transform your personhood into a product to be free.

You don't need to optimize yourself endlessly.

You can decide anytime that where you're at is enough for now.

No one blames a daffodil for being a little slow to open up.

We appreciate when it does and wait in excitement.

If you're feeling a little slow to process and you're worried others won't wait around:

Remember there are people who are excited for your arrival and don't expect you to rush.

I feel the need to reiterate the difference between surprise & shock. Surprise is when you don't expect something will happen and it does. Shock is a nervous system reaction. It's when your nervous system is overloaded by threat, real or perceived. None of this is surprising. All of it is shocking.

Focus on the WHAT before the HOW.

We're often blocked because we're trying to solve for the HOW (getting hired, securing a stable job) before even having clarity on the WHAT (what excites you, what kind of life you want).

When you clarify the WHAT, the HOW often naturally emerges.

Thoughts?

Don't conflate capacity with capability.

Here's a way to tell the difference:

Capacity is about what you can do in a given amount of time.

Capability is your ability to do the work at all.

More often than not, you're capable, but breaching current capacity.

Which can be painful to accept.
