Did my second paper Digimon TCG regional yesterday and managed to leave with my first ever major event top!!

Had some pretty goofy misplays along the way but I’m still proud of my run and my friends’ runs too. Hopefully I can do this again soon c:

Yes, really. Before this year I only ever experienced this game via YouTube and fan content elsewhere on the internet, but I’m really glad I gave it my time. Will be playing Deltarune myself soon just to see how my feelings on it develop after giving it my direct attention

I love a lot of this show with all my heart but god

55 episodes of nothing happening really does drag the good parts down, no matter how much fun the characters are to watch. The me of like 10 years ago would’ve thought this was the greatest piece of media ever made though, so I still appreciate it

First up is another Digimon show yippee!! Way slower start than Tamers but it has a much more interesting middle and finale. Also Marcus Damon is one of the most fucking fun protagonists of all time, like genuinely

Y’know before playing this game I was pretty burned out on Monster Hunter. I got my endgame build for World and Rise wasn’t speaking to me, so I took a break from monhun as a whole

Anyway that break is over now because god DAMN is Wilds fun. Legit completely reignited my interest in these games

Finished up the new season of Invincible, and it’s… okay. Not, like, crazy fantastic the same way season 1 or the Atom Eve special are, but it’s good

Begging the writers to show Eve some justice though because god DAMN does she feel useless

This movie is profoundly personal to me in a way only matched by movies like Lady Bird or I Saw the TV Glow. I’d dare call it perfect, and that’s before mentioning the impeccable imagery and visuals

If you haven’t seen it you’re missing out on at least 2% of life

Digimon 3v3 is apparently best of one, so I’m bringing out the most annoying, most highroll-y aggro deck I can think of for the bit

I’m either winning in 5 minutes or losing in 5 minutes, let’s get it ✊

Neva was even better than I thought it would be. Not as much of a direct hit to my psyche compared to Gris (this studio’s other game), but the environments were memorable, the gameplay felt great, and the music was fantastic as expected. Might go back and 100% it sometime, just for fun

Full disclosure, I didn’t actually “play” Shipwrecked myself; I just watched @blakra.bsky.social play it and helped with some things here and there since there are a LOT of layers

Without spoiling anything about it I’m just gonna say that it’s worth your time, even moreso if you like puzzles

I have so much I want to say about Mr. Robot but I reeeeally don’t want to risk spoiling anything. If you can find it you have to watch it, end of story. It’s rare for TV to give us stories *this* good

Anyway next is The Boys LMAO

I’ll be real, did not care for this show much on my first watch until like mid season 2. Once it starts being confident in what it has to say though it kick ass, especially season 3. 4 is fine but I don’t love how they handled some characters. All in all it’s decent

Hilariously I think I also have to count Power Rangers RPM into this list, but even funnier to me is that it’s good. My brother as my witness, RPM is both the best American PR show and a really solid piece of fiction overall. Is it cheesy and dumb at times? Sure. Doesn’t mean I don’t love it anyway

IBO had one of those magical first episodes where every element comes and clicks into place. Not all the time does a piece of fiction hit you with the realization that it’s peak right out of the gate, but this 100% did

Starting off the non-MCU stuff, I wanna shout out Digimon tamers for being a super fun watch with some surprisingly well handled themes. That kids show writing does show its hands every once in a while, sure, but I have to give credit to any show willing to depict a homicide on screen

Of all the MCU stuff I watched, Agatha has easily become my favorite. I have seen it three times the entire way through and I’d do it again, too

I cannot fucking believe just how good this gets as it goes along. Episode 7 especially is some of the best television I’ve seen *period*

First one’s first, Moon Knight

This was arguably the biggest surprise hit I got over my winter break. Genuinely shocked at how competent it is as a self-contained superhero story and also as a DID narrative?? Like damn man, well done lol

I’m lumping all of the MCU stuff together with two exceptions that I’ll be going over in more detail soon

Guardians 3 and Iron Man 1 & 3 are the standouts here. Pretty much everything else on this list ranges from “it was fun and not much else” to “oh, I can see why this genre feels bloated now”
