1/4 Christmas sewing projects completed in 2024
Pattern is McCall’s M8011, in the non-cropped version. I made a lining and the sleeves with the mushroom cat flannel fabric from Joann’s. The Jean fabric is heavy duty blue Lucky Brand Jean. The jean fabric was tough to work with, as it sometimes got 5 layers thick in some places. To get past that, I hand cranked the sewing machine or hand tacked some places down. I attached the lining then used the collar pieces, cuff pieces, and the bottom band to hide all the raw edges. The mushroom buttons button up fairly well for how big they are. I made the holes generous to fit them. If they are swung to the side a bit they fit in like a glove and stay buttoned up Fully lined

Some completed sewing projects from 2024
Large back patch is from MortusViventi on Etsy. I painted glow in the dark puff paint in thin layers to the words, cat whiskers and eyes, and the moon Finished altered Simplicity 8418. I added around 7-9 inches to the hem line and 1 inch to the arms to fit the large back patch. The black canvas was a mystery fabric from an old ladies stash. The reflective material was allocated from a just-too-small running jacket. The Black Cats on Branches flannel was from Joann’s. All other items (other than the patches) was also from Joann’s.
