Dirty Pair (July 85 - Dec 85)

Feels nice to finally watch this classic after knowing about it for a while. A relatively short watch too since its only 25 episodes. Would recommend.

Nosferatu (1922)

Another silent movie under my belt and now the oldest movie I've watched. For ninety minutes of your time, I'd say it's very well spent if you give it a watch.

If you see this, post a vampire that isn't Dracula.

Does this count?

Supposedly there's this trend on the Digimon side of Bluesky that amounts to 'Get to know me with Ten Rookie level Digimon.'

So I will attempt to join in on it.

However, after making this, I realized I forgot about Wormmon and Kokuwamon and want to groan.

Chainsaw Man: The Movie - Reze Arc (2025)

It's good. Damn good.

Watch it if you can.

Samurai Shodown: The Motion Picture (1994)

Years ago, @mattmcmuscles.bsky.social made a compilation video of this movie's English dub and its lived in my head rent free years since its deletion. Getting to see the thing in full and its more glorious than I remember being shown.

Guyver: Out of Control (1986)

I've now finally seen every last animated adaption Guyver has had. This one is just okay, but the other OVA and the TV series cover far more ground. It's okay for what it does, but I certainly have some questions for Emotion regarding some of Valcuria's scenes.

Demon Detective Neuro Nougami (Oct 07 - March 08)

You know you're the favorite at Madhouse when you get more than twelve episodes. Wish instead of the made up final arc they came up with they just had the finale be with HAL.

Still a good adpatation despite some baffling choices made with it.

Digimon Adventure (March 99 - March 00)

A rewatch, but with a twist as I watched it subbed instead. Also got to see ep 21 for the very first time as at no point in the dub's reruns on TV did I ever see that one. Also never getting over how robbed the dub was in regards to the music.

mfw I see 'Vikings' trending and its because of the sports team and NOT the Scandinavian sea wolves who once struck fear into the hearts of all Europeans.

The Water Margin by Shi Nai'an (supposedly, no known publication date either)

As a fan of Suikoden I was obligated to read this. However, while I enjoyed it, this exact version I picked up omitted the last thirty chapters. Please be careful when looking for you're own copy.

Battle Angel (June 93 - Aug 93)

Very nice OVA, definitely going to have to check out the manga. Would happily recommend if you love science fiction and cool fights.

The Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman (Feb 96)

"She's one OVA short of a series."

Between the premise and the dub sounding/feeling like early [adult swim], this might be one of the best comedy OVAs out there. Thankfully, a nine volume manga exists so there's a chance I can get more of this.

Zoids Wild (July 18 - June 19)

While Genesis was a more serious show with a more developed main cast, this show went all in on its villains being the worst people ever as well as having actual entertaining personalities. The main cast aren't half bad either.

Definitely recommend it.

I need all of you to understand something. Something very important.

There is a real chance the Warrior Ten are going to be in Time Strangers playable Digimon and I'm not going to shut up about it.

I submit to the skyline my proof.

I also submit to the skyline that I will not apologize over it.

Pluto by Urasawa Naoki (Sept 03 - April 09)

A reread, but with the official English release this time. Feels good to not only have reread the whole manga, but also physically own it too. Still remains in my top ten manga after all this time. Read it if you haven't.

Ya damn right.

Galaxy Quest (1999)

I cannot believe my favorite joke in this movie involves Gilligan's Island. Aside from that, very good movie and surprised there was a time when DreamWorks did live action movies.

Flame of Recca (July 97 - July 98)

Yu Yu Hakusho at home, but firmly establishes it has an identity outside of its influence. Really wish the anime fully covered the manga, but I'll probably just read that one of these days instead of hoping for a remake.

Samurai Shodown (2019)

Odd to put a fighting game here, but after obtaining all the achievements I felt it was fitting enough. Not to mention I just want more people to know this game exists, is fun, and very easy to pick up.

Ronin Warriors: Message (March 91 - Aug 91)

The final Ronin Warriors rewatch and certainly the last time I ever have to watch this. Somehow, despite remembering most of the beats, I'm somehow more lost and confused as to what this OVA is even about. Funny how the OVA named Message is incoherent.
August 16, 2025 at 3:31 PM
Shurato: Dark Genesis (Aug 91 - March 92)

It's amazing how this OVA started off strong and actually made Shurato kind of good and then just decided to become godawful in the last episode. How do you do it, Tatsunoko?
August 16, 2025 at 3:31 PM
Legend of Heavenly Sphere Shurato (April 89 - March 92)

A rewatch for the sake of making a video of how godawful it is. It somehow wound up being WORSE than I remember in so many ways. It's Saint Seiya but worse in almost every possible way.

For no particular reason, please enjoy one of my favorite pages from Craig Thompson's graphic novel Blankets.
