I ate a huge cookie when we got to the fam's house. And more than a few m&ms.

Thanks.

I cannot believe we are all okay.

I drove the rest of the way to Ajax at 80kph in the 2nd lane to the right (avoids bad/late mergers), stunned at the people driving 120kph and faster around me. Didn't they just see what happened?

Drive safe, people.

We were in an Elantra hybrid with safety equipment, and the collision alert, which beeps when I'm coming up too quickly on a car stopped at a red light, didn't even have time to make a sound.

I cannot believe it happened.
I cannot believe I felt it happen before it happened.

The Bronco hits the divider at traffic speeds and I see the front end absolutely crushed. I think he survived.

Somehow, I was able to whip past the back end of him on my left - with maybe inches to spare - without hitting anyone on my right.

Kept braking, watching where this 2-ton projectile was heading, hoping I would have an escape somewhere. I didn't even have time to look to the next lane right, and there was no room to the left - just the cement divider between us and the oncoming traffic.

It's going forward, tilting wildly left and right on its elevated chassis, and I can't tell if it's going to flip and roll, or careen into us or I don't know.

I start applying the brake gently and carefully, repeatedly. I know I didn't check behind me, because there WAS NO TIME. I just had to hope.

I started to feel really, really uneasy. I told hub, "I feel like something is going to happen. Like someone is going to do something stupid, and I'm really scared."

Within a minute, from three lanes to our right, I see a black Bronco start to slide wildly out of control at speed, towards our lane.

I was in the far left lane just to get past a clutch of cars in the middle lanes. I prefer to drive in the middle to avoid people coming from on ramps in weather like this.
