I‘m not an expert. But as far as I know, vinegar helps the dye bind to the fibers. I test red yarns for bleeding out. If necessary, I wash them before knitting and just add a little bit of vinegar to the water.

Vinegar is my best friend when dealing with red dyes ☺️

It’s REGIA sock yarn. It’s been in my stash for a long time, it might be discontinued, I don’t know.
