3 things suck abt the shooting in Minnesota today: foremost, that there are victims, esp. young ones; guns & the lack of will in our country to do something about them so that we’re not the worst in gun violence; & that Trump CLEARLY will use this to try to take over Minneapolis -all he cares about.

I think trump has one goal with his middle east peace chest thumping, threats, and meddling: he’s dying to get the Nobel Peace Prize.

Maybe this is being discussed - I haven’t seen it - but the Dems need to focus not only on the voters we lost to Trump, 3rd party or stay at home, but also the ones we may barely have held onto (or won over) simply because the opponent was Trump/MAGA. I don’t know the % or demographic; we need to.

This group, a leader in protecting US democracy, is recommended for a follow by Joyce Vance.
This organization has been one of my mainstays since early days in the first Trump Admin. Highly recommend @protectdemocracy.org as a follow!
Hi Blueskyers. I run the organization @protectdemocracy.org which aims to do just that.

Over the past decade we’ve won countless cases to protect voters and truth, helped pass legislation, and unfortunately predicted much of what’s happened.

Follow and repost so we can keep doing that here.

Now Democrats: head off all the MAGA press & excuses that Dems dragged this poor guy thru the mud and slandered him. Get the upper hand on the narrative NOW!

Are we sure the transition team did a poor job vetting? what if they actually did a fine job vetting, knew everything (or enough) and Trump still picked them?

“We’re all just people trying to pee in peace.”

I hope Biden, the Democratic Congressional leaders, and the national security apparatus have a handle on this.
Trump ignores transition rules. It's a 'hostile takeover,' ally says. (Washington Post)

The threat(s) to the Constitution - this by Joyce Vance.
Trump's demand for recess appointments is about more than his nominees. I wrote about his viewthat following the Constitution is negotiable: "Once Republican Senators bypass one provision of the Constitution at Donald Trump’s behest, they’re all up for grabs." joycevance.substack.com/p/what-letti...
What Letting Trump Use Recess Appointments Could Mean
Donald Trump’s stated desire to use recess appointments is about more than putting his cabinet secretaries and other appointees in place without a fight.

The US Senate, per Sen. Warren last night, has prioritized confirming as many of the almost 30 remaining Biden-nominated federal judges as possible - ideally all - while the Democrats maintain control of that body.
