Very interesting line it rides and i think people saying it's mean spirited for showing truly the tippy tip of the iceberg of corruption and abuse is wild and indicative of the corrupt propaganda base. Aesthetically and story and cinematically tho it slaps hard lol

Same same same. Im former catholic and enjoyed the artistry of it but yeeeah they are Really generous/romanticizing with the depiction of the Church as an institution. It's interesting how alot of staunch catholics thought it was unfair/hateful towards the Church when it was soooo kind to them
