I'm 100% with you there but a) sometimes it's good to be caught because it causes a company to reevaluate its processes (which is sadly less farfetched than them learning a moral lesson); b) I doubt every single member of the dev team was responsible for it and I wouldn't want them all punished.

I think if the devs double down on the use of AI, sure. That's a worthy punishment. But if they've already taken a corrective action based on feedback, it seems a little harsh.
