I’m not entirely sure how we have a 28 yo, a 23 yo & a 21 yo (the July-August birthday run is at its annual end) when I’m only 32.

We made lasagna: fresh homemade pasta, a beef ragú, spinach, bechemal, freshly grated nutmeg, cheese.

I’m leaning hard into midwinter cheer, candles at the table every night. It lifts my spirits & makes this darkness seem bearable.

Today’s maunga were the disappeared cones of Pukekawa, Grafton & Te Pou Hawaiki. Pukekawa is a taonga; the abandoned & eerie Epsom campus has enormous potential. The Wintergarden was delightful, as always.

Sun screen is the thing- this is 47, I’ve got some hyperpigmentation and a lil frown line that’s been there for years, but otherwise I reckon I’m doing okay.
