Star Trek Lower Decks (2/6/25)

don't know where I want to rate shows atm because I don't want to rate on both IMDB and LetterBoxd concurrently, so just posting a screenshot of my notes txt file for now
star trek lower decks poster Probably (and maybe unfortunately) the best modern Star Trek. I've yet to see Strange New Worlds, and I feel like I should give that one a chance. It has what a Star Trek should have, a tight-knit crew performing their jobs while working through their issues in a mostly episode format. I think I've commonly heard that a lot of new Trek doesn't feel like Star Trek because of the swearing and lack of "professionalism" from the crew, but I think this show disproves that aspect. They're crude in Lower Decks, but that doesn't get in the way of a good Star Trek experience because it gets so many other elements right. There are bigger problems with Discovery, Picard, etc. Also the first season was trying to be Family Guy in space and it was not very good, but the show got better and better as it developed (WHICH IS ANOTHER THING IT HAS IN COMMON WITH ALL THE BEST TREK SHOWS). Sometimes constantly pointing out all the references was a little annoying, but it also was (mostly) respecting the older shows and characters.

Star Trek Lower Decks (2/6/25)

idk where I want to log TV shows, I don't think I want to review things on IMDB and LetterBoxd concurrently, so just screen capping my notes file for now.

I had a dream last night that I woke up in a hotel room bed. There was someone on the other side of the bed not moving and I couldn't clearly see them. There was a single dart in my hand. I was finding I was having a hard time moving precisely or with any speed as if I had been drugged. A few moments later Donald Trump wanders into my field of vision. He has two small "bullseyes" taped to him, one on his heart and one in the middle of his forehead. He says to me that if I can make the shot I might survive. He watches me attempt to build up the energy to throw the dart with total futility for a solid five minutes, but I can't even prop myself up with whatever inhibitor he's drugged me with. He's smiling and laughing the whole time. Then he slowly walks towards me with a serious look on his face. He has a dart in his hand too and now I realize there's a bullseye on my forehead. I try and fight more and more to throw the dart at him but I just can't. Eventually he gets really close, and he holds his dark against the bullseye in the center of my forehead. I'm now using everything I have to try and stab him with my dart but I can't break through whatever hes' given me. Then he slowly stabs my forehead with the dart and pushes it in at a consistent speed. The pain is excruciating and now I am writhing. About halfway through it entering my head my thoughts start to get read cloudy and hard to understand. Then the pain goes away and I can no longer think. I spend the rest of the dream in this state for an indeterminate amount of time before waking up.

the plastic that is supposed to stop my teeth from moving is moving my teeth back to the position that my teeth aren't supposed to move from (because I didn't wear the plastic enough) and my entire skull is on fire and this happens at least once a month.
