Oh last one, totally worth checking in the day before (the checkin office closes at 5p) so you can go directly to the hilltop and start the hike day of! We would have had a little more daylight at camp the firet evening

the hike to Mooney was also super beautiful! We ended up coming back a day early but I think the full extra day at camp would have been lovely (hike in, mooney falls, chill day, hike out)
Frybread at Supai village was an amazing way to break up a series of dehydrated meals!

The best campsites are snagged very early, so you could also take whatever site night 1 (not worth rushing the hike in imo) then wait to see if any better site opens up on morning 2 as people leave before night 2 hikers arrive

The U.S. NWS is a truly world-class meteorological predictive service, perhaps singularly so. Its cost of operation is only ~$3-4/yr per taxpayer—equivalent to a single cup of coffee—and yields a truly remarkable return on investment (at least 10 to 1, and perhaps 100 to 1).
