The recent wave of mass firings hit federal workers responding to the nation’s growing bird flu outbreak, protecting crops from damaging pests and ensuring the safety of pet food and medicine, among other critical duties.

Most of the federal work force “cuts” are actually administrative leave. Individuals shut out of offices & computers. Unable to use “federal equipment” to communicate with former co-workers or the public they serve. But still paid. No savings. Just waste.
