Why didn’t gen x fight boomers for a seat at the table? Why is it taking until politicians are in their 80s before they face millennial or primary challenges?

We may also want to consider the message being vaccines are required to live as a society in a community. All of this is a blend of public health, journalism, and general PR.

But your job also conveys messaging, and messaging is what we are talking about. Obviously we need detailed scientific journalism into the various studies, etc. for but we also need clear & concise messaging on something that I would say should be noncontraversal: vaccines are safe.

Let’s say the Hep B vaccine. What would be your slogan to let folks know it’s safe.

So what’s your transparent & precise way to convey that vaccines are safe?

I agree re: researchers v pharma, but pharma funds a lot of the research, and if it’s their vaccine they have a say in the PR of it

But how is “There’s no good evidence of serious, widespread harm from the vaccine" better or clearer than just saying "vaccines are safe”. Obviously there are always risks in medicine based on individual biochemistry, etc. but the former phrase is doing active harm

Most people are not scientists, and we need to communicate messaging in simple English. As a lawyer, much of the scientist hedging lingo seems to come directly from an avoid litigation standpoint — which I don’t think helps the public know what is safe!
