Does anyone seem to think that your posts are like signs on a telephone pole - people zip past them and notice them for a second, but don't really read them unless they're forced to stop? I feel that way a lot, but you can't explain that to someone who is at a stop sign and takes offence at them.

Just when I thought I could not cry anymore after my husband died, my Woodgie, my cat who always comforted me passed away in my arms this morning. Steven loved her, too and I think she missed him. We were in his rocking recliner while I cried for both of them...

My husband bought a bundle of old comics, including a 71-year-old Jimmy Olsen. 10¢. I'm flabbergasted. Unfortunately, nobody has really liked Jimmy Olsen, which is why his solo comic ended in 1974. 20 solid years though.

I have a "fake" Christmas tree and a "homemade" one made from twigs from the evergreen outside the house. I have mini ornaments I've collected over the years (I used to be a minister's wife - he left the ministry and me) and a few that were my late father's. And, yeah, my husband is a "secular" Jew.

They did pick up the garbage! The kids got somebody to come plow the drive and the walks. The pathway in the front is gone-see? (it did snow a lot last night - mailman is on his own today). Guy even put down "salt". Sunshine today - it partially melted the candles in a menorah I had in the window.

It's finally winter here in Northern Indiana. Not calendar-wise, but off the lake weather. I can't get to a snow shovel, so I used a broom to clear the sidewalks, a path out front, and the drive enough to get our garbage can out. I hope they pick up tomorrow.
