Ice is in red MN counties too. A Somali immigrant high school student has been arrested. She has legal status and is not a criminal. This is happening in a county where 2/3 are Trump voters.

My rural MN hometown area is similar. I know of rural MN protrumpers who whine about being the "forgotten" people while living in a million dollar lake home and driving a pristine $100K Super Duty that has never carried anything that would dent the box. Rural MN version of "all hat and no cattle".

Then when I went an away to college I’d come home to a super quiet house at night. I was used to city noise by then. No wind outside, no street noise since it was isolated. I got spooked again and turned the same radio on and opened a book to fall asleep

I grew up in a farmhouse with one tv channel. When night gallery was on and my parents weren’t home, I’d turn the tv off because it scared me. All I had then was a radio. Looking back those days weren’t bad because I had to find something else to do…like read a book. Egads. Read?

Red western MN is the same. The MAGAs whine about “the cities” but many MAGAs are literal rural millionaires. They own the large farms or are town business owners living on nearby lakes in expensive homes. Many homes are 1+ million. I live in “the cities” but can’t afford the rural lake lifestyle
