Maybe they shouldn’t have voted for the guy. Rural CA aligns politically much more with MAGA than a lot of other places in the states. Just drive through it and see all the Trump signs. Guess what? Elections have consequences. I just hope my whole state doesn’t burn down this summer.

That we are living in a dictatorship and most people haven’t noticed. For all the talk about needing guns so this would not happen here, it seems those guns were only good for killing kids in schools.

It already collapsed. As soon as he continued the freeze on funding and nothing happened in spite of court orders pausing the freeze, we began living in a dictatorship.

Aren’t we already there? He isn’t respecting the judges’ orders on finding freezes. The money was already cut off and nothing has happened to him so we are currently living in a dictatorship. Game over. Took less than 3 weeks.

He doesn’t care whether it breaks the law. He has already broken so many laws without consequences. Look at what Musk is doing and nothing is happening. Law enforcement hasn’t charged into the buildings to stop him. So Trump can and will dismantle the DOE and there is no one to stop it.

Well no one should be writing a check to the IRS on April 15th. That protest only works if we do it en masse. But we have the power to shut the shit down if we had the balls.

Not just march. That does nothing. But strike en masse. No buying of anything beyond essential groceries. Mass walkouts. Truckers stop deliveries. Park trucks on major highways this blocking them. Anything to gum up the works. Shut the country down. We need to sacrifice our comfort.

If you want change at some point you will have to take a risk. Think about Rosa Parks and all the others who participated in the bus boycott in the year that followed. If our future isn’t worth risking something, then I guess we can all just rollover and let them do this to us and to the planet.

Study the general strike in France in 1995 or 96. They shut everything down for 3 weeks. Truckers put big rigs in front of the refineries 50 deep.
All transportation workers walked out. Then the mail delivery. No cargo delivered, no fuel, no mail. Couldn’t take a bus, plane, train. It was a success

You sound like everyone I followed on Twitter in 2017 to deal with Trump 1.0. And guess what? They were all naive. Nothing happened to him and now he is back in power with both the Congress and the Senate and 3 more SC justices on his side for a total of 6. There is only 1 solution and it’s ugly.
