Not sure how to describe myself. I'm pushing 70 (how did that happen!?). Retired private sector and federal service employee. I'm a blue dot in a very red state. I'm a "glass half full" person, so I'm hopeful for the future. And - I'm not that "Karen". :)
Thank you (from here in WV) for being a leader worth following.

I agree. I retired from CDC/NIOSH in June 2024. The stuff my former team was put through is insane. And that's only a small piece of the lingering damage. One of the divisions I supported monitored black lung disease in coal miners. They were fired and rehired. Rinse and repeat.

Isn't there a deadline for how soon it needs to be published in the Federal Register? When I was a fed early in my career, I had to search the Federal Registers as they were issued (in paper form at that time) for appropriations law related items.

I always stop to look closely at your arrangements when they come up in my feed. They make me smile and help my brain slow down for a bit. I found your owl, too. Thanks!

Thanks, I needed that! Here's Jake. He's named after the boy Jake in Stephen King's Dark Tower series. He's been gone for two years, but his pictures make me smile. :)

This is Bear with his stick of the day. And in his bed with "stolen" couch pillows.

You might be able to send a nice bouquet of leafy green poison ivy. Just sayin...

I'm guessing he had no clue what an appropriate action might be (even a fake one for the sake of the cameras)

I thought it was headed for Casey Kasem's top 40. Yep, that dated me for sure...

I'm wondering if they'll scale back or continue to report. However, I don't have much faith in CNN at this point.

Whoever said to just "move" has never been poor. Coming up with funds to make a move can be totally out of reach.

I was five in 1963. It used to amaze me that this stuff happened in my lifetime. These days, not so much. The current administration has given haters renewed permission to hate out loud. It makes me very sad...

I graduated in 1976 from East Fairmont High School in WV. My dad bought me a blue 1966 Oldsmobile F-85 for $300. I added an 8-track player. :)
