Sweet Jesus! Does Cuomo not even know his own state history?!?!? The Erie Canal, as per Governor DeWitt Clinton, was a “Wedding of the Water”, connecting the Atlantic to the Great Lakes! Chicago came to be BECAUSE of the transport created by the canal!

As a teacher, I concur. It’s all about expectations we, as parents, set for our children. As teachers, we have to fight that, and there’s only so much I can do in 6.25 hours of the day to get your child to care/do “hard” things.

I teach 2nd grade and always turn spelling this word into a big deal…pronouncing it wrong most times so they all laugh at me, but learn how to spell it! Wed-nes-day!

There are still rules in real life. Even in elementary school, threats get you suspended. That’s why a living document like the Constitution needs to evolve too. Hence, amendments. We need leaders brave enough to tackle these things. Actually, I’m a woman, but I will have a great day. You too!
