These students are very real challenges, and misteps, but life really has the potential to be very, very good. However, I will never not be grading or need to be grading something between now and St. Lucy's Day.

I am blessed to with wonderful colleagues and with this rebound after a rejection and our futures are in good hands as long as we can survivie this current coup.

I talked to them about they vital importance of supporting those we love who are vulnerable and they share about immigrant experiences. They wrote quietly, they laughed loudly, and they engaged.

They are bright, engaged, scrappy, intellectually curious and fun! Last week I overheard one student tell a group that she and her so toured Europe last summer with Judas Priest--"an oldies rock band they would never have heard of."
