Yes. ACA is modeled after the market-based Heritage Foundation plan introduced by GOP Congress for years - and signed into law in MA by then-Gov. Mitt Romney. Pres. Obama adopted a version of their plan in efforts to get GOP votes on it (which failed - all GOP voted no on his version of their plan).

I just came here to say this. In fairness, the USSC has told him (and us) exactly this.

And added kudos to Sen. Warnock for having the strategic wisdom to call the budget hideous instead of repeating the bill’s false misleading name. Repeating a false frame reinforces it. Too many Dems do that.

This is great, but it isn’t sustainable without changes to campaign finance. Electeds are beholden to their highest donors because campaign spending is unlimited and donations are unregulated since Citizens United. The sinister John Roberts knew what he was doing.

It’s all about campaign finance which hobbles elected officials completely. He receives and accepts more campaign $ from one side of the IP conflict which drives his decisions, choices, actions when human interests should drive him. No change without public campaign finance.
