Buzz with 2 wheel drive on winter roads was interesting.. unless you like drifting with family cars go for the all wheel drive if you end up the VW path :-) - as far as tech go I prefer the Volvo route - seems pretty stock Android and not much customization. The VW interface is weird

3. Single use case postgresql backup and restore system. We should be able to self host postgresql in the base case without dedicated sysadmins. At least for less important databases - basically reduce the risk somewhat

2. Deployment tools for non-dockerized setups, leveraging systemd and other native Linux services. It's coming back in a big way.

Happy to hear that it's a net positive for you :-) I agree on the boilerplate part, though I mostly work in well established codebases, so usually not a lot of boilerplate to write. I do think that there is some value in owning/writing the boilerplate/glue though. 🤷‍♂️
