I don’t doubt a GoFundMe exists. The fact that it exists doesn’t mean it’s genuine.
For all I know, the organizer intends to keep most of the proceeds, giving only a tiny fraction to the person. That also assumes the woman and “baby” aren’t paid actors.

Unfortunately, this administration is unwilling to work to get immigrants legal via paperwork. Instead, they want to throw them into illegal prisons without due process… and then make them disappear. Often, being roughed up in the process.

It’s must go deeper than that. Those performing illegal activities as part of ICE must be held legally accountable to their actions. Even if they’re abolished, that doesn’t fix the problem. We have to do both so that this situation can never happen again.

That’s why this type of tear jerker story is a near perfect ploy to trick people into giving away their money. It’s why I must also always objectively question the sincerity of the segment… particularly when a GoFundMe is involved.
