Not surprised but still disgusted by the response from my Senator, #Indiana Senator Jim Banks supporting #DOGE cost cutting including "millions of dollars of wasteful contracts for DEI consulting" Name and Shame!
Dear Dr. Barnes, Thank you for contacting me regarding the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). I appreciate your feedback. # President Trump was elected with a mandate to reform our federal government agencies and make the bureaucracy accountable. DOGE is one part of that. The United States is over $36 trillion in debt, and we are spending more than $3 billion every day on interest alone. Maintaining the status quo will bankrupt future generations of Americans. and Congress how to make federal programs more effective. For example, DOGE has eliminated tens of thousands of unnecessary software licenses at multiple agencies, over $100 million in annual rent for vacant and underutilized office buildings, and hundreds of millions of dollars of wasteful contracts for DEI consulting services. It is also important that Congress takes a hard look at our spending and makes strategic, structural decisions about which programs are delivering results for taxpayers and which ones are wasting money. I am working to preserve and invest in the programs that Americans rely on and spend taxpayer dollars wisely. Hearing from you helps me do that.
