Youtube comment by @/thebadpoet: You just reminded me of shopping for bras for chorus members of a Broadway show I was interning on. I went up to the register with twenty bras of various sizes and skin tones, and the employees asked what in the world I was doing. So I explained I had combed the clearance section for the right sizes and colors since Equity actors have to have costume undergarments provided for them to wear during performances. The total rang up around $40 over the limit on the company card I had, and the cashier just looked at me and said, “hey, you’re wearing red, right? We’re doing a heart health month promotion where there’s a discount if you wear red,” I looked at her in all black theater kid confusion, and she picked up a red pen from the counter, leaned forward, and tucked it behind my ear. Then processed the discount, so I could buy all the bras in one transaction on the card.
