Just a guy who loves a good and respectful discussion.
Interests: all of popculture really, cool and interesting tech, history.
Very true, it reaaaally hurts constructive discussion if either side isn't willing to understand each other's pov.

Some ppl may let those failed expectations blind them and not judge it for what it is - on the other hand the context is super important.

Imo both pov's can be interesting.

Great to see someone remember it. It sure added to downward spiral of reception post Gens.

SOA's big western reboot crashed and burned, Forces was a middling 40$ game 4 years after middling SLW and it's <1m sales.

Mania aside it took a saved movie to bring a lot positive buzz to the series again.

I think looking at invidual writers is better than at years? You have an attitude and continuity in SA1-Heroes, you see dynamics change (Tails, Knuckles etc.).

Inspirational depiction seems to be a thing in some of X, 06 and Unleashed where all these were written or co-written by Kiyoko Yoshimura.

I think they retconned this stuff some time ago, current DK is supposed to be aged up Junior (Cranky's son) as implied in the movie.

Dunno about Pauline since current design first showed up in DK94 and in the original the kidnapped person is called "Lady" so they technically have a way out of that.

Frankly, as the series went on it become more stale and homogenized - both story and gameplay wise so I don't think this one is the best showing what the series has to offer.

I would especially recommend the first one as it feels like most earnest, charming and unique one out of the bunch nowdays.

Sorry, meant that if you have just PS5 games you can move them to HDD too. You would have to move them back to Internal Storage to actually play them again of course.

Sounds like a good move when NVME SSD's weren't as cheap initially, kinda like what we see with Express for now.

I think going with Express was reasonable, also it'a fresh standard so I understand the prices.

What I'm not a fan of is the lack of options, Sony got it right - you can play PS4 games from HDD just fine on PS5, you can even store PS5 games on it.

Feels like N not wanting to bother than anything.

Both look really cheap and flat yeah, no better than SADX.
The originals just have this cohesive presentation that is a joy to look at.

Emulation has been fine for a while. Any few minor graphical bugs left can be fixed if they irk ya. PCSX2 wiki has everything on that if curious, great resource.

It's true that old PCSX2 versions were very very problematic with this game but current 2.0 version works just fine out of the box.

I heavily dislike Revervie presentation, 2 especially looks awful.

IMO anyone picking that is doing themselves a disservice unless they really can't emulate.

Recore is an interesting one, genuinely found the combat loop, worldbuilding and platforming really fun, sure's got that Metroid Prime vibes.

Also make sure to get the free update to Definitive Edition, the original version was blatantly rushed, atleast they got the solid second chance to fix it.

Things have been looking promising since Final Horizon for me.

It feels they had barely any budget and it's unpolished but MAN, the new platforming challenges there are overall one of the most interesting level design they made in a LONG time.

Just happy they are trying to push themselves again.

How are you feeling about Doom Morph? Bad tutorial aside I LOVE it.

Feel like it's been a long while since Sonic Team gave us some sick movement options and level design that accommodates it.

Shadow Gens and Frontiers being such an improvement makes me pretty excited for the next game ngl.

From what I saw so far of Two Memories part - it looks like an reimagining akin to RE2 with new dialogue, presentation and gameplay - doesn't really replace OG as a seperate experience it seems.

Didn't play either ver of R but it looks like a remaster, Switch version seems like a nobrainer i guess?
