Although Juno I was nearly identical to the Jupiter C research rocket, it had one 4th stage specifically designed to carry lightweight payloads to low earth orbit. Juno I brought Explorer 1 the first American satellite to space.

Bull Goose was a U.S. Air Force cruise missile developed in the 1950s as a decoy to fool enemy radar. Sleek and fast, it mimicked bomber signatures, flying ahead to distract defenses. Though never deployed, it marked a key step in Cold War tech and missile strategy evolution.

Juno I is a modified version of the Jupiter-C rocket. Both are based on Redstone technology. Jupiter-C was used for missile tests, while Juno I had extra upper stages that enabled it to launch satellites like Explorer 1 into orbit.

The Vanguard program was the first U.S. space effort not linked to a weapons system. Initially chosen to launch the first satellite, repeated failures led to its replacement by the Redstone-based Project Orbiter, which successfully reached orbit.Later Vanguards technology was used in other programs.

Atlas-A was the first test version of the Atlas rocket series, developed in the late 1950s. While designed for ICBM research, it also laid the groundwork for future space launch systems. Early flights tested engines, structure, and flight control with mixed success.

The Jupiter C was a research rocket derived from the Redstone MRBM, designed for high-altitude re-entry tests of Jupiter missile components. The second and third stages aimed to carry a nosecone into space and complete a high-speed re-entry. Of 12 built, only 3 launched, with no real success.

Redstone
The first operational ballistic missile of the U.S., built by Wernher von Braun and his team. Later, it was not only used as a booster for the Jupiter-C rocket to carry the first American satellite Explorer 1 to orbit, but also combined with a Mercury capsule to carry Alan Shepard to space.

X-17
The X-17 was a short-lived U.S. research rocket developed to study nose cone performance at high speeds. It used three solid-fueled stages and reached up to 16,000 km/h during suborbital reentry. The data gathered helped improve missile and space vehicle designs.

Snark
This Cruise Missile was developed by the U.S during the Cold War designed to carry a nuclear warhead and land on the “Skid Strip” without landing gear if the warhead wasn’t used yet. It was able to fly over 8000km but was soon discontinued due to rapid advancement in ICBM technology.

Matador
The Matador was a U.S. surface-to-surface cruise missile with a range of 500 miles. First launched in 1951, it served as an early nuclear-capable weapon during the Cold War. Around 1,000 units were produced and deployed worldwide, including in Germany, Formosa, and Florida.

Bumper-WAC, the first American made object reaching space and the first rocket that launched from Cape Canaveral.

A marriage of the German V-2 ballistic missile and the U.S Army Wac Corporal research rocket, a 1,52m SRB combined with a 6,1m liquid-fueled engine stage.
