well here in Denmark, the dutch is remembered for different reasons like help to prevent Denmark to get a 3rd of our historical territories back from sweden.

answer to previous post: the big thing 1956 did in Denmark, was the collapse of Danish communist party. The leader where so critical of the soviet response, that i think moscow itself called the party up to get rid of him. He then went out to found the Socialist peoples party and they stil around.

in recent danish history maybe 1848 could count but we defintly had one back in the viking age.

feel a little sad you dont mention this one, one of the longest standing border constructions in europe was active from around 500-1200AD. Of course alot of it was built and expanded over time but still.
