I think reviewer quotes in KS are usually silly for various reasons, but if you know these people then you know how rare it is that they share universal consensus around effusive love for a single book

you can now add and edit captions on mood.site! working on a proper update announcement post that will go live later at updates.mood.site, but for now check out a video showing off the feature.

the past week or so I’ve been working on a long-requested feature that I didn’t totally want to add, but enough people wanted it that I thought I should do it - image rearranging!

inaugural office board game was finally played terraforming mars. my biggest takeaway was “…this?”
game feels surprisingly baroque as a design from barely 5 years ago, which I also think speaks to the meteoric progress board games have made since its publishing

Ah okay! I promise this is not trying to viral market my own software haha but it looked very similar in gutter spacing to what mood uses and I was excited to see a boardgame person using it. Anyways, love your work!!

the visuals specifically though - I feel like there’s a bit of a retcon people have. oblivion was a big deal fidelity wise at the time, but the graphic style itself feels like less a choice and more just what was trendy around then. twilight princess had the same gauzy bloom style, as did others.

contrast this with modern signifiers of luxury like ultra minimalism and it looks like the bluths are living in kanye’s “decorated” house

one thing I’ve been thinking about is how our deteriorating sense of aesthetics due to economic precariousness (always renting) and hegemonic coercion due to social media “taste” has started to make the arrested development model home seem a lot less “empty” than the show intended for it to feel
