Started my first metagenome sequencing run on a #nanopore MinIon today. Excited for the results! Surprisd by my library prep skills, 3 libraries made with almost identical concentrations. Must have done something right, I guess 😅

Starting this Thursday's writing session with some breakfast 😊

Brought the samples to be sorted in the morning. Unfortunately one of the filtering steps seems to have removed most of the cells 🫤 So it will be another try next week.

Get to play with the microscope today 😅 I was staining bacterial cells for a FACS sorting run tomorrow and quickly wanted to check whether it worked. As always fascinated by the glowing clouds and dots, like the night sky...

Finally getting the hang of #flongle #nanopore sequencing 🥳 After wasting many runs because of "teething problems", finally a good number of pores actively sequencing and decent-quality output. Mainly using it for sequencing 16S amplicons so far. Up next, metagenomes...
