The Smile & Shine award ceremony was the most joyous way to start the new year. @thruzim.bsky.social

We termed the programme Smile & Shine. We received applications from our drivers, housekeeper, data analyst.. for support of driving licences, diplomas in logistics, training in accounting software & MSc degrees. The applications and presentations were really thought provoking.

In 2023 @thruzim.bsky.social was awarded the EDCTP recognition prize for most outstanding research team enabling us to fund fortnightly writing mornings for our PhD students, a 2wk R training course organised by @vickysimms-epi.bsky.social & a career development programme for our staff members.

Congratulations Nyasha Dzavakwa who completed a RCT aimed at improving adherence among adolescents on ART as part of her #PhD. Beautifully conducted - watch out for the results. What an achievement!

Yesterday I had a fab meeting with @tinamwat.bsky.social a CREATE PhD fellow - she works on quality improvement of blood culture services. I was so impressed how she has taken into account existing QI initiatives at the hospital. @thruzim.bsky.social @wellcometrust.bsky.social @lshtm.bsky.social

Today the Zimbabwean Research Network organized a virtual conference entitled "Bridging Science, Policy & Practice for Healthy Communities" - Great to connect many 🇿🇼 researchers across the country, region and internationally! Thank you to the organizers. Hope to see the network on bluesky soon!
