You need only look at the polls of Trump's current support among white men to disabuse you of the notion that Americans didn't envision and don't want this. They did and they do.

In a democracy, the politicians are a reflection of the people. If our politicians are horrible human beings, that's because the people are too.

So many white guys feel like they're being scorned for being white guys when in reality they're just assholes.

Anything this government says should be assumed to be a lie and not worthy of being reported at all, unless the story is about how the government is lying to us.
