I'm genuinely fascinated how someone who's been exposed to top class training since he was about 8 can be so bad at the most basic element of the game. They see this day after day at training yet are ok with it🤷

I know there are gaps in coaches currently but surely to Christ seasoned veterans who've been lifting, jumping and throwing in lineouts since they were 14 years of age can still complete basic actions? It's not exactly forgettable fundamentals

That is absolutely true, what sticks out though, as an example, is Munster being refused a front row on the grounds it would block players already there.

Seen it with my own eyeballs at the time. A Test 10 on the ball 5m from the line and both 15's knew to prioritise defending the passing channel and not the tryline

The 7 turnovers do show that there were attempts made to carry however when it was absolutely on he simply didn't

If the problem was the school he went to then those people would have the same issue for dozens of players which clearly isn't the case

That's a lazy viewing my opinion, Keenan/JVDF/Doris to name a few are hugely respected and admired, they've earned it. I don't know what school or town in Kildare he's from, couldn't care less, his aversion to carrying and tackling I do care about

I liked when players had to prove themselves over a couple of seasons at club level, I'd be old fashioned that way
