The next morning we woke up to police knocking on doors asking if anyone had seen anything. Apparently a neighbor had been crossing through the field in front of our building and was struck and killed. It was super sad. Since then I don’t mess with being outside during storms.

We both instinctively slammed our doors shut and asked at the same time if the other was okay- you could feel the electricity in the air. Took a second and ran inside as fast as we could.

I wasn’t but a neighbor was. Partner and I pulled into our apt complex &getting out of our car when a MASSIVE crack of lightning hit super close. It was so loud and bright- like a bomb going off.
