It’s not just Redford himself we mourn, I believe it is more the idea of Redford, the idea that someone like him can exist in the world & make things better. If you look at how he lived his life & compare it to the shit hooks in Washington DC, people are mourning what we no longer have.

If you look at Robert Redford, (toss aside the fame & beauty), who he really was and how he lived in the world, and then you look at the shit hooks in Washington DC and realize who they are - the juxtaposition is almost too much to bear.

The Supreme Court ruled today that masked ICE agents can stop detain people for having brown skin, accents, or working certain low-skilled jobs. I do not recognize my country.

Sitting in the large atrium of a cancer center, waiting for a friend to finish their MRI, I see people walking in and out, some slowly, some at a fast clip, but all with a certain determination and steeliness. They smile & nod hello. The courage here is breathtaking.
